Driving Advice For Central America

Driving in Central America is different than driving in Mexico. While the driving distances are shorter, because of the mountainous terrain and generally poorer quality roads, allow more time than you think you need. Gasoline in Central America is about one-and-a-half-times more expensive than gasoline in Mexico. While there are Shell and other international oil company gas stations, your US or Canadian credit cards may not work. Check with them first.
