What a lovely location for a retreat! AMATLAN de CAÑAS, situated in the Sierra Madre Mountains of Mexico about 1 3/4 hours drive from Guadalajara airport. Weather is about 65-70 degrees in the evening and morning and 80's during the day.

Los Pavoreales, means "The Peacocks", and it is a new small hotel on the outskirts of this small and charming Mexican pueblo. It is a three minute walk to modern hot spring pools. Organic lemon and lime trees grow right on the property and make shade for the real peacocks that live there too.

Our light exercise will be restorative yoga on the lawn, and light hikes through this pueblo's cobble stoned paths. The owners, Lucy and Alfonso Ron Alvarez speak perfect English. They lived in Oakland, California for many years. You will be warmed by the people of this village who are so kind and generous.
