This is a short list of economical (or unique) hotels and bed and breakfasts in Mexico. We like Mexican hotels that are off the beaten track, not tourist spots. If you have economical hotels in Mexico you like, please let us know. I used to have dozens of hotels listed, but frankly, had to drop many of them. In keeping with the spirit of "Mexico" Mike, some of the listings are here just because I like the places and some are advertisers. El Paraiso, near Tampico has got the be the most undiscovered, serene value on the entire coast. Only a few hours away from McAllen or Brownsville, it is a joy to discover.
